What do you love most about Grace Christian School?

Great camaraderie with fellow teachers, and the ability to pray for students and the knowledge that I am being prayed for as well.

Why do you like teaching at Grace Christian School?

Being able to freely share the gospel and to have a Biblical worldview on topics.

What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

My 2 favorite activities are in 4th and 8th grade! In 4th grade we take all that we've learned throughout the year to plan a virtual cross country field trip. To prepare we've used Desktop Publishing to make flyers for places to visit, excel to calculate our travel costs, etc. Then, at the end of the year, we take a virtual field trip in a virtual school bus to visit landmarks across the country like seeing the Statue of Liberty, flying over the Grand Canyon, and strapping in for a roller coaster ride in Disneyland! Our 8th graders become young entrepreneurs as they apply all they have learned since Kindergarten to open their own business! They do a market analysis to see how tight the competition is, make business cards and sales flyers, design t-shirts, and create a website. When finished, we dress for success and have a grand opening celebration, complete with banners, balloons and, of course, great food. Then all students get a chance to share their business plan with their classmates, being sure to add in any special deals they are offering "for a limited time"!

How does “Faith and Learning Connect” in your role at Grace Christian School?

We cover a variety of topics in computer class, from internet safety to designing a PowerPoint or website. No matter what the topic is, we always try to use discernment in choosing wording, images, and when searching online.

What sets Grace Christian School students apart from other students?

Our students have the freedom to speak freely of their faith. If they have questions about spiritual things, they have a host of staff members to ask. If they have concerns, those same staff members can pray with them as well.
